Spanish-Inflected New Orleans Fare Coming to Lafayette Parish Plaza

Expect food, drinks and surroundings that will resonate New Orleans vibes.

Not to be confused with the popular dessert shops popping up in the Crescent City, a new restaurant called Le Sucre Orleans is slated to offer a Spanish-inflected take on classic New Orleans fare when it opens in Youngsville later this spring. Space for the restaurant is currently being renovated at 1901 Chemin Metairie Pwky, and photos published by Developing Lafayette reveal a lot of New Orleans-inspired décor and fixtures, from street lamps to a decorative balcony. The Lafayette website also revealed that the menu at Le Sucre Orleans will include both Crescent City and Hispanic influences.

While a person called David Zepeda was reported to be the restaurant’s founder, a business listing with the State of Louisiana indicated prominent Acadiana restauranteur Ruben Chavez is among those behind the new venture. At last check, the only online presence for Le Sucre Orleans is an Instagram profile without any posts. What Now New Orleans was unable to connect with ownership for additional details.
