Café Degas opened in 1986 as a classic French bistro. In addition to building a clientele with its classic French dishes, the restaurant also earned rave reviews for incorporating the outdoors of the surrounding Faubourg St. John neighborhood. The café is also known for having a tree growing through the middle of the dining room. Customers have favorably compared dining in Café Degas to eating in a treehouse.
