The PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans location at 2138 Magazine St. is looking to operate as a standard restaurant and add alcohol sales to its existing offerings. Owner Aubry Miller recently told What Now New Orleans that she hopes to add beer and wine sales by the spring of 2024. The café shares a building with Gallery B.Fos and adding alcohol sales would seem to be a natural fit for any gallery openings or events.

PJ’s Coffee was founded by Phyllis Jordan in 1978, way before the Second Wave and Third Wave of coffee brought espresso drinks and single-origin coffee beans across America. By purchasing high-quality beans and using superior grossing methods, Jordan was decades ahead of her time and the success of PJ’s Coffee chain is a testament to her methods. The company has locations across several states and it recently opened its 175th store. In addition to its coffee, the café has become popular for its cold drinks, beignets, sandwiches and king cake. PJ’s Coffee typically doesn’t sell alcohol, and alcoholic beverages are not listed on the official website.
