Wayback Burgers currently has locations in 35 states, and it’s about to add a 36th this fall when its first Louisiana location opens in the Warehouse District. The new 2,400-square-foot location for the burger franchise will be in good company at 611 O’Keefe Ave., as it will share a building with Maypop and Willa Jean. In addition to being known for its made-to-order single- or double-patty burgers, Wayback is also known for its modern décor and open kitchen, which allows guests to see their orders being prepared. Local franchisee Lionel Nelson said he was inspired to open a franchise after visiting a Wayback location in Georgia and falling in love with the burger chain’s signature Cheeeesy Burger, according to a press release. Wayback Burgers also sells chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, salads, Impossible burgers, and handmade milkshakes.
