After opening on South Broad Street back in April, the NOLA Sweet Tooth Fairy dessert shop is on the move and preparing to open at 9301 Lake Forest Blvd. in New Orleans East, according to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans. Owner Shakairione Johnson has been posting renovation updates to Instagram, but an opening date has not been set. What Now New Orleans has reached out for comment.
According to the official NOLA Sweet Tooth Fairy page on Yelp, Johnson started baking when she was eight years old and is self-taught. She spent two years working as a pastry chef in a New Orleans bakery before launching her dessert shop. Sweet treats available at the shop include layer cakes, house-made ice cream, cookies, banana pudding, and poundcakes.
