After being transformed from a local watering hole to a two-floor destination with a roof-top patio, Parish Line Bistro in Old Metairie is now set to become a new concept called Barcar. The new restaurant at 601 Metairie Rd., will reopen in mid-August with new operators, the hugely successful Hufft Marchand Hospitality group, according to a report from NOLA.com. That restaurant group is locally known for Junior’s on Harrison and Gail’s Fine Ice Cream in Lakeview. It also owns two restaurants in Baton Rouge.

After a quick refresh that will only last a couple of weeks, Barcar will have a new look, but a lot of familiarity for fans of the old place. A revamped menu will still be upscale, including a burger made with dry-aged beef and raw oysters. As with Parish Line, the bar menu at Barcar will emphasize craft cocktails. The biggest changes will likely be behind the scenes, with Hufft Marchand Hospitality taking over the daily operations from an ownership group that included Mickey Loomis, general manager of the New Orleans Saints.
